: Bachelor of Arts ( three years) six Semester Degree Course.

Course : Bachelor of c ommerce ( three years) six Semester Degree Course.

Eligibility Requirements

B.A / B.Com I & II Semester
       The student must have passed the second year PUC examination of the Karnataka P.U. Education Board or any other examination recognized as its equivalent by the Karnatak University .

B.A. / B.Com III & IV Semester
       The Student must have kept two terms at B.A/B.Com I/II semester course of Karnatak University or must have passed an equivalent examination.

B. A. / B.Com V& VI Semester
       The Student must have kept two terms at B.A./B.Com III/IV semester course of Karnatak University or must have passed the equivalent examination.

Medium of instruction : The medium of instruction and examination shall be in k annada or English.

Certificate and Documents required.

       A student shall produce original / Xerox copies of the statement of marks of lower examination issued by the PUE Board / Department of Vocational Education / Karnatak University .

       Students are required to submit their SC/ST/BCM/BT/OBCS (Whose parental annual income is not more than Rs. 11,000/-) can avail exemption from tuition fees, subject to production of caste certificate and income declaration form, from the Authorized Revenue Authorities, of their Village / Town / Taluka, at the time of admission. Failure to produce caste certificate they are bound to pay full fees. In addition to this three Xerox copies of each certificate must also be submitted.

(A) I.Subject Combination for B.A. I Semester 2010 -11 on words

1) Basic    i) English

                 ii) Choose any one of the following subjects :
                      Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Persian or Addl. English.

2) Optionals : Students have to choose any three Optional subjects, selecting any                        one subject from one group given below.

  • Applied Statistics or Kannada or Urdu
  • Persian or Political Science
  • Geography or Hindi or Sociology
  • Economics or Education or English
  • History or Mass Communication & Journalism

3) Additional Subjects (Compulsory) for:

  • Semester : Indian Constitution.
  • Semester : Human Rights & Environmental Studies
  • Semester : Personality Development and Communication Skills
  • Semester : Computer Application.

For B.A. V & VI Semester

Choose any one Language from the following Subjects:

English, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Persian.

Note:

  1. All subjects carry 80 marks for written examination &20 Marks for internal Assessment
  2. A student with Geography at B.A. V&VI Semester will have to study 8 hours of theory (2 hours of practical paper per week papers of 4 hours each) and 6 hours of practical per week.
